Northern Kentucky University
Quality-Made, Community-Driven
For years, Northern Kentucky University has been called a model for learner-centered education. Small, intimate class sizes and a commitment to student/faculty interaction give NKU the look and feel of a private university--all for the most affordable tuition in the Greater Cincinnati region.
There
is little doubt why a record number of students now make NKU their college
of choice. Last year, more than 14,000 of them--traditional and non-traditional,
commuter and residential--chose to be a part of one of the Commonwealth's
fastest- growing universities.
With an average class size of 24 students, NKU's intimate teacher/student ratio allows for personal attention to individual students, lively classroom discussions and a comfortable learning atmopsphere. NKU's Natural Science Center, which opened in fall of 2002, is home to some of the nation's most advanced math and science technology and is considered the technology hub of the Greater Cincinnati region.
NKU combines a wealth of program options and resources with a supportive, learner-centered environment to ensure student success. Collaboration with local organizations such as Fidelity Investments and Fifth Third Bank allow the university to work hand-in-hand with local communities in making Northern Kentucky a better place while enhancing the educational experience of its students. The nationally recognized Mayerson Student Philanthropy Project turns entire NKU classes into boards of philanthropists that assess community needs and distribute real grant money to area nonprofit organizations.
For these reasons and countless others, Northern Kentucky University remains a model of learner-centered education. NKU truly is Quality-Made and Community-Driven.
